Andrea and I had a great group of teachers in our beginning robotics strand. We focused on integrating the robotics to current curriculum to help meet Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. https://sites.google.com/site/robotsroamingthecurriculum/

After having made new contacts and expanding my personal learning network to encompass national and international projects, a Google Group has been established so that participants can continue sharing ideas and perhaps pursue new opportunities in education.
On Day 2, we completed presentations and then worked to identify or define innovative and transformative. Our group took it one step further and designed a model for K-12 education that focused on the relationships between students, teachers, parents, and the community. The following TED Talk mirrors our feelings about how the educational system should function.
In addition to the renewal of a purpose for education, Day 1 of the Summit included presentations by innovators from around the globe. It was very humbling and inspiring. Educational equity, robotics, web 2.0 tools, and STEM were just a few. #radsummit
"What is the purpose of education?"
Although this seems like a simple question, there is quite a lot of complexity to the possible answers that we discussed at the Summit. Even though our group may not have been able to agree on all aspects, there were many inspiring ideas. Completing the finishing touches to my 8 minute presentation for Thursday at the Radical Innovation Summit. I'm looking forward to sharing our innovative ways at Galileo.
